Life Experience Leads to Opening Discover Health Chiropractic
When your mother is an R.N., you have ready access to health care services and expertise. But it was after a sledding accident as a teenager that I experienced my first chiropractic visit. It amazed me how one could train themselves to find where the body was experiencing pain in another person. My Chiropractor ran her hands down my back and was easily able to detect the areas that hurt. It was this experience that altered my entire perspective on how optimal health is actually achieved and maintained.
After graduating from Century High School I attended the University of North Dakota and graduated with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. I then moved to Minneapolis, MN and attended the prestigious Northwestern Health Science University where I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic. I was privileged to complete one of my internships with one of the most highly regarded chiropractors in the Minneapolis area before returning to Bismarck to open my own practice.
I took great care in the design of Discover Health Chiropractic, striving to create an energizing, healing environment, while incorporating the latest state-of-the-art technology. At Discover Health we cater to all individuals seeking optimal health and wellness. I look at the body holistically. While the body has an innate intelligence for health it is our responsibility to make the right lifestyle choices in regards to how we eat, move and think. While I am happy to help people in pain it is important for me to help people understand how their body functions and the major role the nerve system plays in maintaining overall health.
Discover Health Chiropractic is incorporating the latest technologies into the office. We offer our practice members X-rays on site as well as state-of-the-art nerve scan technology. The Insight Subluxation Station TM is revolutionizing chiropractic care by providing patients a picture into their nervous system, allowing them to see the affects of interference along their spine, by way of computer imaging. In January of last year the Subluxation Station TM was awarded exclusive certification as a Certified Space Technology by the Space Foundation.
We will be using the technology to help us identify areas of interference to the nerve system caused by misaligned vertebra. This tool will also help us track progress towards wellness with periodic nerve system scans. As the old adage goes, ‘seeing is believing' and we are excited for our practice members to get a rare glimpse inside their bodies to see firsthand how their nerve system is really functioning and how much muscle stress they may have. More importantly, they will literally see progress right before their eyes. I think this will be a very powerful tool to help people stay motivated and on track with their wellness programs.
With education playing such a key role in the practice, Discover Health Chiropractic has launched a community outreach program, which features a variety of free general health workshops, educational events, and wellness demonstrations. The program will support local businesses, schools, and organizations in educating their employees and members on health topics such as the affects of stress on the body, the role a positive attitude plays in maintaining health and the key factors that impact health. I am also working towards my wellness certification through the International Chiropractic Association (ICA) and Life College of Chiropractic West, which will make me one of the few doctors in the state to have this designation. My outreach work will focus around educating the public on eating, moving and thinking their way to optimal wellness.
I have been happily married to my wife Lisa since 2007. We enjoy outdoor activities such as golfing, camping, spending time at the lake, and going for walks with our son Kyle. Our son has been the greatest gift and blessing in our lives.
